- Pioneer Cemeteries owned or operated by a Camp or Company of ISDUP shall be governed or operated by the Executive Board of the responsible entity. Day-to-day operations shall be carried out by a designated member of the Board.
- Grave markers and upkeep shall be the obligation ofthe responsible Camp or Company. Cemeteries should be cared for and protected appropriately.
- It is appropriate for the responsible entity to request assistance from the city in which the cemetery is located. There shall be a written agreement asto what services the city may provide and for what length of time. This agreement shall be reviewed annually and kept up to date.
- Upon the need for a fundraiser or a request for donations to aid in the maintenance of the cemetery, fundraising and use of donations must follow ISDUP printed policy found at: ISDUP.org → Leadership tab → Camp or Company Officer Information → Treasurer.
- Any request that a headstone or burial marker be added to the cemetery requires reasonable proof that the person in question was actually buried in the cemetery. The request must be approved by the Executive Board of the responsible entity. The cost shall be paid by the requesting party.
- If the city requires the cemetery to be moved for a valid reason, the Executive Board of the responsible entity shall collaborate with the city to ensure that all graves and markers are correctly identified, protected, and relocated.
